Description: This course is designed for VFD commissioning or maintenance personnel, to set-up or maintain an Altivar 21/212/61/71 drive for building automation serial communication.
Prerequisites:
- Attendees should be able to exhibit basic menu navigation and programming skills with the Altivar 21/212 and 61/71 control panels. This may be accomplished through one of Schneider Electric's other drive classes.

Objectives: Upon completion of this accelerated course, the student will have the skills to:
- Install a communication card in an Altivar 21/212 Drive.
- Install a communication card in an Altivar 61 Drive.
- Set the parameters necessary for an Altivar 21/212 Drive to communicate on LonWorks, BACnet, or Modbus networks.
- Set the parameters necessary for an Altivar 61/71 Drive to communicate on a LonWorks or Modbus TCP/IP Ethernet networks.

- The set-up of ATV21/212 and ATV61/71 VFDs (Variable Frequency Drive) for network control and monitoring.
- The monitoring of indicators on the ATV21/212/61/71 drives to verify proper operation.
- The student will be able to set-up and maintain an Altivar 21/212/61/71 drive in regards to serial network communicaitons.
