History

The
hallmark of Schneider Electric’s Automation Business
has always been its uncompromising support of the
installed customer base. The flagship
Quantum series of controllers deliver the flexibility to
drive our 200 series I/O developed almost thirty years
ago. We can also make the same statement about the 500
series I/O, and the 800 series I/O developed for the
famous 984 PLCs. Schneider Electric’s history of
technological innovation doesn’t end with controllers.
Twenty-five years ago we introduced Modbus, and today it
remains the standard protocol for open, reliable
industrial control as well as the cornerstone of our
Ethernet TCP/IP offer. Since Schneider invented the
PLC thirty years ago, it’s products have set the
industry standard for reliability, quality and
long-lasting performance.
